Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow...

Today I completed the first draft of my novel, Incarnations of Evil, which recounts the story of a Polish family in the area near Gdansk, Poland, who became embroiled to different degrees in the Nazi barbarities of that area. The book is based on extensive research, including a five day trip I made to the area in the middle of November 2018 to ground the book in the realities of Polish culture and landscape. Below is a video recording I made of one of the memorials in the region, at the site of an extended series of secret executions carried out by the Nazis, where they shot not only Jews, but many of the Polish leadership, teachers, politicians, priests, lawyers, doctors, etc. as well as children with disability, people with mental illness, and people with neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's, Huntington's, etc.

Overall I am pleased with the book I have written, although it was neither easy to write, nor, I suspect, will it be easy to read. It still needs quite a lot of work to get into publishable shape. The book deals extensively with these questions through the lens of disability, as many of my main characters have mobility limitations.
